Ray School

Elementary Teacher: For 17-18 school year. Experience with primary grades preferred. NH certification required. Apply by 3/31/17.

Part-time Special Education Teacher: position requires experience with program development and coordination with related services for a range of disabilities, including multiple disabilities, augmentive communication, NHESE and IEP creation and process. NH SPED certification required. Position starts August 2017, open until filled.

Special Education Teacher: to work with students with autism and other developmental disabilities in a self-contained classroom affiliated with the New England Center for Children, located in the Bernice A. Ray School . Experience with ABA, discrete trial instruction, and case-management of students with intensive needs preferred. Position starts July 2017, open until filled.

Strings Teacher: Part-time (0.1 FTE) certified music educator to teach strings who is dynamic, student-centered, and has experience building string programs and conducting ensembles. The teacher will work with students grades 4-5. The successful candidate will demonstrate enthusiasm for classroom instruction and work well with colleagues. Apply by 3/31/17.

Spanish Teacher: Part-time, experience with elementary language program preferred. NH certification required. Apply by 3/31/17.

Custodian: Part time, cleaning, maintenance, event set up and take down. Position starts immediately, open until filled.

Hanover High School

Custodian: Wednesday–Sunday, 36 hrs/week. Cleaning, maintenance, event setup and take down. Position starts immediately, open until filled.

Substitute Process for 2016-17

If you would like to be a substitute in SAU 70 for a Teacher, Educational Assistant, Receptionist, or Nurse, please apply on SchoolSpring (job ID#2742573).

Pay for Substitutes 

At its September 2014 meeting, the SAU 70 Board voted to increase pay for substitutes for all SAU 70 schools.  The table below shows the pay rates:

 Category of Substitute Years of Work Experience as a Substitute in 
SAU 70, including years as SAU 70 Staff Member
For Teachers or Other Certified Staff      0-5 years:  $75/day          6 or more years: $85/day
 For Support Staff (Educational Assistants or Administrative Assistants)      0-5 years:  $65/day  6 or more years: $75/day
 For Nurses      $175/day


Note that a full day is 4 hours or more.  If you work less than 4 hours, you will be paid for a half-day.

Costs for Background Checks

  • To substitute at Ray Elementary, Richmond Middle School or Hanover High School:  $25 to Hanover Police and $47 check payable to "State of NH-Criminal Records"
  • To substitute at Marion Cross:  $37 check payable to "Norwich School District"

Finding SAU 70, the Superintendent's Office

We are located at 41 Lebanon Street, and our offices are attached to Hanover High School.
Looking at the high school from the street, the Superintendent's office is on the right (site of the old Richmond Middle School).
Come through the door with the tall white pillars on either side.
Parking:
Further to the right (looking at the SAU) from the street is a parking lot where you can park.  Enter it off Hovey Lane, near the Catholic church.
